Here is our weekly travel update to help you get around London this weekend, 13/14 December. Most of the network will be open with services running as normal this weekend, but please check if any of the following affect you.



Flexible travel is coming on Oyster and Contactless

From Friday 2 January, the way pay as you go fares are capped will change. Daily capping can give part-time workers the best value when travelling up to 5 days a week using pay as you go on Oyster or contactless. Part-time workers can benefit from the same level of discounted travel as those using 7 Day Travelcards and Bus & Tram Passes. For more information, please visit tfl.gov.uk/newfares


Travelling during the festive season?
From Sunday 21 December 2014 to Sunday 4 January 2015 planned improvement works and service changes may affect your journey. Please note that there is no service on the entire network on Christmas Day, Thursday 25 December. To make the most of London, plan ahead. For more information, pleaseclick here





Docklands Light Railway


There is no service between Canning Town and Beckton due to Crossrail work at Customs House.

London Buses


Central London - On Saturday, from 13:00 until 15:30, a march will take place northbound from Marble Arch along Edgware Road (A5) towards Star Street (which is before Marylebone Road (A40)) and back again. Buses may be diverted or stop short of their normal destination.

Roads


Road users may be affected by the following this weekend:

Finsbury Park - Lane closures are in place on Seven Sisters Road (A503) at the junction of Medina Road until mid-March. This is while Thames Water carries out work.

City of London - Tower Bridge Road (A100) will be closed in both directions between Queen Elizabeth Street and Abbey Street, between 21:00 and 06:00 until Friday 19 December, with the exception of Friday and Saturday nights. This is to enable road resurfacing work.

Central London - From 09:00 on Saturday until 17:00 on Sunday, lane restrictions are in place on Lower Thames Street in the Monument area. This is due to utility works being carried out on behalf of Thames Water.

Central London - On Saturday, from 13:00 until 15:30, a march will take place northbound from Marble Arch along Edgware Road (A5) towards Star Street (which is before Marylebone Road (A40)) and back again.

Westminster - On Sunday, from 12:00 until 17:00, Hamilton Place, near Park Lane, will be closed and lane closures will be in place on Piccadilly eastbound at the junction of Hyde Park Corner due to a religious procession.

Hyde Park - Roads within the park will be closed until 22:00 on Sunday 4 January, due to an event.

Hammersmith - The Hammersmith flyover (A4) and roads around Hammersmith Bridge Road will be closed overnight on certain dates until summer 2015. This is to enable access for contractors working on the Hammersmith flyover strengthening project. For more information of the closures, please click here

Changes to the availability of docking stations are as follows:
 Little Brook Green is part-suspended due to utility work
 Storey’s Gate is out of service due to resurfacing work
 Vauxhall Walk is out of service due to traffic scheme improvements
 Gun Makers Lane is out of service due to utility work
