A young woman wakes up dazed and confused from a car accident, only to find herself locked in a basement with two strange men.
Claiming to have saved her from a devastating chemical attack, which has left the outside world uninhabitable, the pair do everything they can to keep her from going upstairs.
Once cabin fever quickly sets in, she begins to doubt the claims made by the two men and sets off to make her escape, only to discover a seemingly unstoppable threat on the rampage…
Acclaimed director/producer J.J Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) described the film as more of a ‘blood relative’ than a sequel to Cloverfield, the surprise monster smash of 2008. Unlike its predecessor, 10 Cloverfield Lane has not taken on the found-footage format and cost just $5m to produce.
Whilst rumours of a Cloverfield follow-up have been rife since 2014, Warner Brothers managed to keep production firmly under wraps, until they unleashed the trailer in the second week of January 2016; just two months before the U.S release date.
Though full plot details and the link to the original film are still shrouded in mystery, we do know that the film stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead (A Good Day to Die Hard). The supporting cast is headed up by Hollywood veteran, John Goodman (Trumbo), and John Gallagher Jr (Short Term 12).
